Recently I got the chance to catch up with Taylor Siluwé, blogger and author. I began by asking him to tell me about himself."I love telling stories, especially our stories, and even deeper, stories most people wouldn't tell. The dark side of human nature is what inspires me to begin pecking out a tale. When I'm done, hopefully I understand myself a little more, or maybe I understand human nature more."
"I also love taking pictures, usually surreptitious ones catching people just being their nasty selves."
Many people know Taylor Siluwé from his blog, SGL Café.
"I love and hate blogging. A part of it is vanity, as if the world can't understand a particular issue until I give my two cents. I love the ability to share my mind with the planet, but I hate when people begin to expect it or express annoyance that I haven't talked about such and such. It's all so tiresome sometimes when it's a chore" he adds. "But it's a total joy when it's not."
Next I asked him about his book."Dancing With The Devil is a collection of tales about a single protagonist and his numerous dances with his own dark side — obsession, addiction, lust, all those human motivations that make us do unexpected things with no regrets. Everyone dances with the devil, but not many will admit it."
What's next for Taylor? "The future is not set for anyone, but I would guess that I'll keep documenting human frailty, especially as it concerns black gay men, and why we are sometimes so willingly and knowingly self-destructive. It's sad and fascinating all at the same time."

Spooky - I'd just finished writing a review of Dancing With The Devil when I saw this article!
Great minds...
...and I've just remembered there's a great clip of Taylor reading from Breeding Season, one of the stories in the anthology, on YouTube. He sounds as sexy as he looks... ;)
